Stefan Scheuer

Stefan Scheuer, Secretary General of the Coalition for Energy Savings

For two decades Stefan Scheuer is involved in shaping and making EU energy and environmental policices to support public interests and to achieve change on the ground for the benefit of people and their environment. With his public affairs consultancy based in Brussels he provides analysis, advise and management services for a broad range of clients, including governmental, business and civil society organisations.

Since 2014, he is representing environmental, health and consumer interests as member of the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency in Helsinki.

Since 2011, he leads as Secretary General the Coalition for Energy Savings, the unique voice of European business, consumer and environmental associations, energy cooperatives, local authorities and trade unions for putting energy and efficiency at the centre of Europe’s energy and economic policy.

From 2000 to 2007 he worked at the European Environmental Bureau, lately as its Policy Director, and was Chairman of the ECOS, the EU citizens’ organisation working on greening technical standardisation.

By academic background, Stefan Scheuer is a hydrologist, researching the natural and anthropogenic water cycle and aquatic ecosystems.
